Pregnancy and Infant Loss

Losing a child at the earliest stages of life can be extremely difficult no matter the stage of pregnancy or development.

Even if you did not necessarily want to be pregnant, losing a pregnancy can have a deep emotional impact and can be a physically difficult experience.

Immediately after a pregnancy loss, your body is experiencing the same hormonal changes and decline that occurs during the postpartum period. This decrease in hormone levels can make someone susceptible to depression.

Even if it has been years since the loss, it is not uncommon for you to have periods when you are struggling with grief and wondering what might have been.

If you or someone you care about is struggling with the grief of losing a child during or after pregnancy, please contact us to request a counseling appointment.
